Hey, it’s Matt with Magee Farms, and we’re doing something a little different today — getting ready for upland bird hunting season!
In this video, I’ve got Annie, one of our German Shorthair Pointers, out for a little refresher session before pheasant season kicks off. We’ll show you how we set up a simple training exercise using live birds (safely handled and unharmed), and give Annie a chance to work her scent and pointing skills.
My grandson Red helps out as we get Annie ready for the upcoming upland bird hunts, and you’ll see how we reinforce basic commands like “whoa” and reward solid points and retrieves.
