Dot’s Andy Covey | Oklahoma Quail Hunting
My little pointer Dot found this covey on the edge of a sand draw in a pasture we call the “Andy”. She was all contorted around a big sand plum shrub with the birds below her. Only two birds flushed initially with the remainder of the covey (about 10 birds) going out well after the shots. I can tell it’s early season as it took me two shots to knock one down and I was out of breath after the action. I’ll be back after them this weekend and can hopefully get some better footage. #bobwhitehunting #birdhunting #bobwhite_hunting #oklahomahunting

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation bands bobwhite bobwhite on some of the Wildlife Management areas in Oklahoma. On this late season hunt near my local WMA Ben’s Brittany, Cali, pointed a scattered covey of bobwhite and Bill shot a banded bird. Fun stuff!
