Elliot Stamschror started out hunting turkey and deer after being a Marine. Once he found duck hunting, he really hit his stride. A member of The Fallen Outdoors non-profit group, Stamschror seeks to help other veterans get back into civilian life through outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, and boating. Through his efforts and the efforts of others in the group, he’s getting more veterans into the outdoors in a positive way.

Best Hunting Areas in Colorado Ever

I went hunting in Colorado. We go hunting up there several times a year.
What are the best hunting areas in Colorado?
You can go elk hunting in Colorado. However, they have a limited license application process that limits the number of licenses available, and the best areas change year to year.
I don’t particularly care about elk hunting. What are the best hunting areas in Colorado for more traditional game like deer, dove or geese?
The best place to go goose hunting is along the Colorado Front Range. You should go geese hunting during their annual migration north in November and again in February.
What about doves?
You can go dove hunting in August and September around I-70, before they have all gone on their annual migration. Then you can go pheasant or quail hunting, which starts mid-November.
California has a lot of hunting opportunities, but with their push to ban lead from bullets, I don’t think there will be any hunters left there to fund all their environmentalist projects.
Colorado allows both muzzle loading and bow and arrow hunting. For most species, bow and arrow hunting is permitted before you can go hunting with guns and rifles.
I heard about bear hunting and elk hunting in Colorado.
Black bear hunting is most common in October, before the bears hibernate for the winter. The best hunting areas for them are on private ranches in the mountains that give you permission to hunt the bears while you’re hunting elk, deer and –

Actually, you can hunt antelope in Colorado. Like other types of hunting, archery hunting starts in August and runs through September, while the draw only hunting starts in October.
Why does bow hunting start first?
So that the bow hunters get a go without being hit by bullets, and their hunting won’t train the animals to be scared of gunfire.
I’ve heard about the great hunting opportunities in the Arapaho National Forest, but the severe restrictions on the use of vehicles.
The solution is to use a hunting outfitter that uses horses to take you in and bring you and your trophies back up. They do this under permits from the Bureau of Land Management.
Can you go turkey hunting in Colorado?
Turkey hunting in Colorado is in the spring, so no, you can’t get a bird in time for Thanksgiving.
With all this game, aren’t you ever afraid of encountering a mountain lion?
In Colorado, you can hunt for mountain lions with a permit in April and during the winter, thought that season varies. Many of the outfitters supporting this type of hunting are near El Paso County, Colorado.

Merab Dvalishvili seems invincible. But Blaine Henry and Miguel Class think that “The Machine” is on the decline. But Petr Yan may not be the one to beat him this time around. While Petr Yan will likely look better at UFC 323 than the first fight, don’t bank on him dethroning Merab Dvalishvili. We’re not saying it’s impossible, but we are saying that Petr Yan hasn’t shown the tools to beat Merab Dvalishvili. Merab Dvalishvili is slowing down, but he’s going to defend his title a fourth time this year.
In the co-main event, Alexandre Pantoja is defending his title against a newcomer to the flyweight division. Joshua Van made huge waves on the scene after his barn burner war with Brandon Royval. Now, he’s stepping up to the plate against the kingpin of the division. Joshua Van is great but Alexandre Pantoja is no joke. He marched down Kai Kara-France, fighting like a maniac. Joshua Van will have to either harden in the fire, or he will be consumed by it. UFC 323 will be a king making of the Burmese contender or a confirmation that Alexandre Pantoja is he.
