The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon is a happy and loving dog breed. She makes an excellent gundog or family companion, and she suffers from comparatively few diseases. With her sense of humor and lively nature, she’s a good match for an energetic family that’s looking for a dog to be part of its daily activities.

The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon was originally used for hunting and would flush, point, and retrieve water fowl, game birds, and even hares. She’s been described as the “supreme gundog” and is still actively used in this role. She also makes an excellent family companion and enjoys any kind of work. Many Griffons have been successful in agility, tracking, and obedience.

2021 dog trial with the National Shoot to Retrieve Association. These world renowned trials for pointer breeds are held across the country each year. This particular trial was sponsored by the Utah chapter in 2021. The best pointing dogs from the region and beyond come together to compete.

Dogs compete in groups of two. 5 bobwhite quail have been released in the field and the 2 dogs compete to find, point, shoot, and retrieve them as quickly and as stylishly as possible. They are scored on each find and retrieve as well as obedience, ground coverage, and backing. At the end of the trial, the dog with the highest score is declared winner.

Epic North Dakota pheasant hunt with awesome bird dogs and good shooting in great upland bird cover. Follow four good hunting buddies and their well trained bird dogs into a fun and sometimes hilarious morning upland bird hunting experience. Pheasant numbers and cover were so excellent that some birds were cooperative enough to be taken with 28 gauge handloads. Flushing and pointing bird dogs at their finest!
