Grouse Hunting – Fourth Generation – A Film Presented by OnX Hunt

Grouse hunting is considered the ultimate bobwhite bird hunting activity in the western state. Grouse, the largest of all grouse species, can be hunted in several states during the early fall months. This sage-grouse film takes us on a journey with bird dog trainer Brandon Moss and his two American Brittanys into the sage steppe of Montana. Here we learn about four generations of grouse hunting tradition and tactics along with a heartfelt story of connection to this iconic bobwhite game bird. Jethro’s Mountain Man Covey | Oklahoma Quail Hunting

Mike’s pointer Jethro found this nice covey of wild bobwhite in February, 2022. Of the eleven coveys the dogs found that day we were really only able to shoot into four of them because the birds were so wild, as they had been all season. This covey flush was the best we had all day and I’m glad I was able to capture it despite my poor shooting. It’s hard to be to upset though when even Jeremiah Johnson missed also (Mike too).
