Here is day 2 of our Colorado Pheasant and Chukar hunt. One of my friends organized a hunt in which 20 roosters and 8 chukars were released. First time trying this for all of us. On the first walk, half the birds are released, and we did not release a single bird. Chronic wasting disease is a disease of cervids in North Dakota that infects the nervous system. Animals with CWD will appear normal for 18 to 20 months, but the disease is invariably fatal. Because CWD can be artificially spread through improper disposal of high-risk body parts, there are body transport restrictions in areas with known cases of CWD.
