Pointing Dog Training – The Flyaway Drill by George Hickox



The Fly Away Drill is a training exercise for pointing dogs, designed to teach them that when the hunter gets in front of them, it results in a bird. Professional dog trainers, such as George Hickox, often use this drill as the first of 3 Pointing Drills to teach young dogs the importance of remaining steady while on point.
