Hunting squirrels with my NEW 22LR

Order some clothes! Today I went squirrel hunting with my new 22. I bought it at a pawn shop and wanted to try it out. I hunted on property I had never hunted before and saw lots of signs of squirrels. Squirrel hunting is a lot of fun and I hope to get out and hunt a few more squirrels before the season ends. Are wild turkeys eating toxic seeds? (638)

Even if habitat quality and predator numbers are balanced, there may still be reasons why turkey populations are declining: neon insecticide-coated seeds. Dr. Grant Woods explains why neonicotinoids are a major concern for our environment and wildlife populations. Many of us have hunted where corn, soybeans and other seeds have been treated with the very common class of insecticide called Neonicotinoids or more commonly Neonics. You may know Neonics by its most common brand name, several of which are: Acetamiprid = Assail and Chipco Clothianidin Poncho, Prosper and Votivo. Imidacloprid Kohinor, Admire, Advantage, Gaucho, Merit, Confidor, Hachikusan, Premise, Prothor and Winner. Neonics are derived from nicotine. They act by binding strongly to the receptors of the central nervous system of insects, causing overstimulation of their nerve cells, paralysis and death. Current estimates indicate that more than 90% of all corn seeds and 45% of all bean seeds, not to mention seeds of other crops, are treated with Neonics. Many scientists are investigating neon as the cause of the decline of bees and birds. The USDA and other agencies are delving deeper into this investigation. This is extremely scary knowing that a high percentage of food plots are planted through the broadcast system, making this grain readily available to turkey and other critters. I am very concerned about wild turkey populations and the health of our environment for all critters, especially humans. Luckily there are some easy solutions! Agricultural production farmers who rarely apply soil health principles, if at all, need to use insecticides, fungicides, etc. Food plot and native habitat managers can also apply these principles with some slight modifications to fit their mission.

She is the granddaughter of both NSTRA Champion, Beam Me Up Scotty, son of Crosswinds Microchip, a 16X NSTRA HOF dog, himself the son of Legend Crosswinds Truckin Fritz!

This week, the writers sat down with Dennis Albaugh, owner of two top threats to the Kentucky Derby, Dennis’ Moment and Thousand Words. They also relive AP Indy’s racing and breeding career, and preview this week’s Saudi Cup and the Fountain of Youth. Dennis Albaugh didn’t want to spend $1 million to acquire Thousands Words (Pioneerof the Nile) at the Keeneland September 2018 sale. Albaugh is among the richest people in sports, but even he has a comfort zone and says he typically doesn’t go over $400,000. But if you want something special, you will have to pay for it. And Albaugh and his team of advisors thought Thousand Words was the kind of can’t-miss perspective every homeowner longs to have. “Typically, we try to find horses in the $200,000 to $400,000 range,” said Albaugh, who was this week’s Green Group Guest of the Week and owns Thousand Words in partnership with Spendthrift Farm. “But they’re getting harder to find when you’re into Book 1 and Book 2. Thousand Words came along and we thought this horse might be a stud because his breeding was great and his looks are incredible. We’ve gone a lot further for him than we normally do.” It seems like it was money well spent. Thousand Words is 3 for 3 and is considered a top threat to the GI Kentucky Derby. On the other hand, he may not be Albaugh’s best 3-year-old. Albaugh, who has as strong a hand as any owner in the country, also has Dennis Moment (Tiznow), the likely favorite in Saturday’s GII Fountain of Youth S. at Gulfstream.
